Emma Sears scored her first international hat-trick and Katarina Macario scored a brace to help the U.S. women's national team beat New Zealand 6-0 in a friendly Wednesday night in Kansas City, Missouri.
Rose Lavelle also scored and Michelle Cooper had two assists as the USWNT improved to 20-1-1 all-time against New Zealand.
The USWNT (10-3-0 in 2025) completed a three-game friendly streak. The American previously split two matches with Portugal.
Claudia Dickey made two saves for the United States. New Zealand colleague Victoria Esson had five stops.
Sears struck in the eighth minute when she received a pass from Cooper and fired a right-footed shot past Esson.
Macario scored her first goal of the match in the 34th minute when she fired a right-footed shot that hit Esson's leg and crashed high into the net.
Ten minutes later, Lavelle made it 3-0 with a right-footed shot into the right corner of the goal. The goal was Lavelle's 27th for the USWNT.
New Zealand took their first shot in the 52nd minute and a minute later had a golden opportunity that started with a corner. Kate Taylor was right in front of goal and headed in and Dickie grabbed the rebound to preserve her shutout.
Sears scored the second goal of her hat-trick in the 55th minute when Cooper set her up again with a cross. Sears cleared the ball and sent it into the net with his right footer.
Macario recorded her fourth career brace for the USWNT in the 66th minute off an assist from Lindsey Heaps. Macario fired a right-footed shot into the left corner of the goal to score his 13th goal for the national team.
Sears had the first opportunity to complete the hat-trick in the 77th minute, but Esson lifted her shot over the net with his right foot.
Six minutes later, the USWNT took a free kick and in the ensuing scrum the ball hit the left goal post and bounced to the right. Sears stood on the goal line and put the ball into the net for her fourth USWNT goal.
The USWNT had an 18-0 advantage in shots in the first half and finished the game with a 34-3 advantage.
