Eidos-Montréal, the Embracer-owned studio behind Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy, is believed to have suffered even more layoffs following previous layoffs in March.
Insider Gaming Reports that the company has laid off more than a dozen employees in recent weeks, with the threat of further layoffs looming over workers still employed at the studio.
“I am devastated by the recent layoffs at Eidos and am seeking a new design leadership position and would appreciate your support,” one affected employee wrote on LinkedIn. as the game developer noted.
According to another post on LinkedIn The layoffs appear to have affected the studio's design, production, writing, 3D art, concept art and animation teams, according to someone still working at Eidos-Montréal.
Eidos-Montréal employees also told Insider Gaming that most of the company's projects have been cancelled. The studio is currently focusing on collaborative development, such as the contributions it made to Microsoft Grounded 2 and Fable.
Eidos-Montréal is best known for its work on recent games in the Deux Ex franchise, as well as Shadow of the Tomb Raider and 2021's Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy.
