Find your missing brother in Echoes of Mora
Selkies Interactive has released a major demo update for its upcoming game Echoes of Mora, which is now available on Steam. After a successful showing at Gamescom 2025, where it turned heads with its mesmerizing underwater world and compelling storytelling, the studio has refined the experience based on feedback from its growing community.
Echoes of Mora takes players underwater to a forgotten village, guiding young Mora on a quest to find her missing brother. Along the way, players discover hidden truths buried in the ruins of a once thriving settlement. The game's detailed environments and emotional storytelling set it apart, with both VR and non-VR modes offering different ways to explore the underwater world.
One of the most notable improvements in this update is the complete overhaul of the VR swimming system. The new design replaces the old gesture-based controls with a system that interprets any movement the player makes and converts it into movement based on direction and speed. This change provides smoother navigation, better responsiveness and a more natural feeling of immersion when diving to depth.
In addition to updated swimming mechanics, the update includes localization into six additional languages, including Simplified Chinese, Japanese, and Ukrainian. Also included are visual updates, seamless switching between PC and VR modes, and an easier and more streamlined swimming option for VR players, as well as general gameplay improvements to improve the overall experience.
Selkies Interactive expressed gratitude to everyone who supported and shared feedback on Echoes of Mora. The team continues to improve and expand the game, striving to create a truly exciting and memorable underwater adventure by the time the full version is released.
