A new dimension awaits in Echo Generation 2
Cococucumber has announced Echo Generation 2, the next chapter in its award-winning sci-fi RPG series, releasing in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, Xbox Game Pass, and PC via Steam. The team also debuted a new trailer during the Xbox Partner Preview Showcase, offering a first look at the studio's next adventure.
To celebrate this reveal, the original game returns in the form of Echo Generation: Midnight Edition, which includes all the updates released, plus fast travel, twelve additional languages, an improved combat system, and a notable visual update. Until November 25, the Midnight Edition is currently 65 percent off on Xbox and 40 percent off on Steam. Those who already own the base game on Xbox will automatically receive the new version at no additional cost.
Echoes: Generation 2 continues the story but shifts the focus to Jack, an ordinary father who finds himself adrift in an unfamiliar dimension far from Maple Town. As he searches for a way home, he forges new alliances, encounters unusual alien threats, and discovers pieces of his missing years scattered across a vibrant and strange cosmic landscape.
The combat system has been completely redesigned, transforming the familiar turn-based structure into a dynamic deck-building system with over a hundred unique cards. These cards allow players to create creative combinations, unleash powerful attacks, and summon teammates during battle. The world takes inspiration from the films and games of the eighties and nineties, wrapped in the studio's signature colorful voxel aesthetic.
Game director Martin Gauvreau shared that the team is excited to expand the Echo Generation universe and build on community feedback gathered over the years.
