More than 500 fans are reported to be lining up to attend EB Game's Pokémon Pop-up event at the Eaton Center in Toronto, but don't worry if you missed out, it runs until January 15th.
The team is also planning a major launch of Mega Lucario and the Moltres Elite Collection for Pokémon card fans this weekend. The store also has a variety of Pokemon-themed merchandise, video games, and more.
“Inside The Collectors Vault, fans can explore the Legendary Wall, featuring ultra-rare and show-worthy collectibles, as well as a rotating lineup of exclusive items, live card pulls, photo opportunities with costumed Pokemon characters, a claw machine filled with plush toys, and a giant $5,000 trading card machine,” EB said in an updated press release Games.
I had a chance to wander around the store the other day, and while I found that there was a lot more Pokemon stuff in there than the average EB Games store, there wasn't much that made me feel like the experience was all that elevated. There's a small museum-style wall near the entrance filled with interesting Pokemon collectibles, but beyond that it's just a retail store. If you spend more than $75, you can use the slot machine for a chance to win rare cards, and if you want, there are also claw machines that cost $3 to try to win Pokemon soft items.

So far, the pop-up seems to be a hit with EB Games, so the company plans to launch more across the country in the future.
