Megan Hayes — the former Biden White House aide who donned the Easter Bunny costume that turned former President Joe Biden away from reporters in 2022 — came under fire online Sunday after she wrote on X that “Donald Trump is getting old fast.”
Hayes' shot at Trump prompted a wave of reminders of her role in the viral Easter egg roll moment, with critics again showing video of the mascot cutting off Biden and steering him away from questions from the press. News week later identified Rabbit as Hayes, then a special assistant to the president and director of communications planning for the White House. “It is an undeniable fact that Donald Trump is aging quickly. This should concern us all,” Hayes wrote.

Conservative commentator Stephen L. Miller highlighted Hayes' past role in the suit: “The person in the bunny suit was Megan Hayes. This wasn't just some random intern trying to distract Joe Biden. She was literally a special adviser to the president and the person in charge of planning media messages.”

During the 2022 incident, reporters also believed Hayes to be a rabbit at the scene. New York Post White House correspondent Steven Nelson noted, “The Easter bunny who censored Biden's attempt to answer a reporter's question today appears to be Megan Hayes,” pointing to her then-communications role.

Hayes previously revealed she played the Easter Bunny at the 2021 White House briefing, highlighting her involvement in the episode even before the 2022 scene went viral. Hayes left the White House later in 2022, Breitbart reported at that time.
