Easily Find Recently Saved Photos on Your iPhone With This One Trick

Apple released iOS 26 on September 15and the update brought a new one Liquid glass redesign, call checking and many hidden functions to yours iPhone. But when Apple released iOS 18 In 2024, Photos made a simple change to make it easy to find recently saved photos, no matter when they were taken. This change sorts your photos by the time they were added to Photos rather than the time they were taken, and it saved me a lot of time searching for photos.

Technical Tips

Previously, if someone sent me a photo and I saved it, the photo would be placed in chronological order (based on when it was taken) next to all my other photos. So if a family member sent me a photo from last summer and I saved it, the photo would get lost in a sea of other photos from last year.

I looked through hundreds of photos and videos to find it and sometimes gave up. But in photos there is a switch called Sort by Recently Added this allows you to sort photos by the time they were saved on your device, rather than by the time they were taken.
