EA Sports FC has announced a multi-year partnership with the European Football Club (EFC) to improve the “financial sustainability” and visibility of its teams.
As part of the joint initiative, the three clubs will each receive €100,000 to support community-led projects. The winners will be announced at the EFC Club Connect event in Lisbon next March.
As a result of this partnership, which is open to all EFC members “regardless of size or gender”, more European clubs will be considered for inclusion in EA Sports FC 27.
The two companies will also provide clubs with joint digital content in addition to tools to enhance their in-game portfolio and engagement.
“The EFC's partnership with EA Sports FC aims to make club football at all levels more modern, inclusive and democratic, giving every club, regardless of size, the opportunity to grow, engage their fans and be recognized for their impact on the community,” said EFC CEO Charlie Marshall.
“As part of supporting our wide and diverse range of clubs across Europe, this EFC initiative will directly open up new revenue streams for clubs, from community grants to digital activations and in-game licensing deals.
“Together we are helping the game evolve by combining the heritage of football with the realities and opportunities of a digital future.”
EA Sports FC spokesman James Salmon added: “This partnership with EFC aims to celebrate that authenticity and create new opportunities for clubs of all sizes to engage with fans in a meaningful and lasting way.
“Through our shared commitment to community impact and innovation, we are helping the game grow both on and off the pitch, giving clubs the opportunity to expand their reach, strengthen connections with fans and inspire the next generation to love football.”
