Drake is famous guy from Toronto Raptors — but with the Blue Jays one game away from winning the World Series, the rapper is naturally jumping on the bandwagon. And of course, that means roasting Los Angeles Dodgers superstar Shohei Ohtani.
After last night's game (October 29), Drake posted a photo to his Instagram Story showing an impressively corny photo of Ohanti in a cozy sweater vest and turtleneck. It seems to come from GQ2022 coverage of the superstar.
Drake simply wrote, “ONE MORE!!!!!!” – referencing how close the Jays are to winning the World Series and highlighting the fact that Ohtani hasn't been particularly dominant in the last few games. (Though it's probably worth mentioning that he historically dominated Game 3, reaching base a shocking nine times.)
This is a big change from Drake's previous take on Ohtani. Back in 2023, when there was a rumor that Ohtani would sign with the Blue Jays, Drizzy posted a photo of himself wearing Ohtani's T-shirt..
Drake also posted a second Instagram story praising rookie pitcher Trey Yesavage, saying he “already reported to the bench boss lol.”
The Dodgers/Jays series likely has some symbolic meaning for Drake, as it echoes the subtext of his Toronto vs. Los Angeles game. failed feud with Kendrick Lamar. During games in Los Angeles, Dodger Stadium often played Lamar's audio over the loudspeaker, repeating his words. The song “Not Like Us” became an anti-Canadian anthem last year.. Meanwhile Drake continues to try to sue his label about how the feud ended despite being recently thrown out by a judge.
Drake attended Game 1 of the World Series at Rogers Center.
