Marcello will hold a fashion show in Venice

After leaving the family company, Marcello (Eugenio Franceschini) is creating his own clothing line. In the season finale, he hosts a fashion show in Venice.

Mother Nature intervenes and forces Marcello and the Agence Grateau team to improvise when their Venice event venue fills with acqua alta (tidal water). However, all's well that ends well as the team decides to stock up on wellies for the models and guests.

When Marcello's mother unexpectedly appears, everyone is nervous. She recently handed him legal papers after he started his own company. Surprisingly, Marcello's mom is delighted with the fashion show and says it's time for her to resign so Marcello can take over the family company. She then introduces him as the new head of House Muratori.

Marcello is excited about the prospect of running the family company and says his mother asked Emily to stay on as their marketing specialist. However, to do this she will have to leave Paris and move to Italy, so she needs time to think about it.

Nicholas proposes to Mindy

When Emily loses her passport, she rummages through Marcello's bag to find it and finds an engagement ring. She assumes he's going to propose to her and immediately tells Mindy (Ashley Park), who asks if she's excited. Emily says yes, but admits that it seems too early. However, she says it feels “right” and loves that Marcello is now living in Paris.

As they get ready for dinner, Emily thinks Marcello is going to propose, but it's a false alarm. They later go on a romantic gondola ride with Mindy and Nicholas (Paul Forman) and Marcello pulls out the ring. Emily says she loves Marcello, but cannot marry him because she cannot leave Paris and move to Italy.

“This is not my life!” – she exclaims.

“It’s not your ring either,” he says.

Marcello then explains that he was holding the ring for Nicholas, who proposes to Mindy. She happily agrees.

Emily and Marcello break up

After awkwardly turning down the proposal, Emily and Marcello talk and she apologizes for her reaction, saying it was “presumptuous” of her to think he was ready to propose.

Marcello says he's thought about taking the next step in their relationship in the future, and she says she's thought about it too. However, she is not ready to leave her life in Paris behind.

“I love Paris too, but only because you are there,” Marcello replies, adding that it belongs to Italy.

“I know. I wish I could be there with you,” she says.

“But you can’t,” he says.

“It's a beautiful dream, but it's not mine,” she says.

Alfie finds out about Mindy's engagement and is not happy

Throughout the season, Mindy and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount) explore their unexpected romantic connection.

Emily and Mindy's friendship hit a rough patch when Emily found out her best friend was hiding from her ex-boyfriend behind her back, but they've since smoothed things over. Plus, Mindy got back together with Nicholas and is now engaged to him.

In the finale, Alfie runs into Emily and Mindy in Paris and sees the ring on Mindy's finger. Emily shares the good news and Alfie asks when Mindy was going to tell him. She says she just did it, but he says Emily did it, not Mindy. Emily tries to diffuse the awkward moment, but Alfie tells Mindy that he thinks she's making a mistake by marrying Nicholas.

As he leaves, Emily asks Mindy if she still has feelings for Alfie, and her long pause says it all.

Princess Jane saves the Grato Agency

When Sylvie (Filipina Leroy-Beaulieu) learns that her husband Laurent (Arnaud Binar) has demolished two nightclubs and taken out a loan against her mother's property, she is furious. She then discovers that she is still financially responsible for his debts even if they divorce.

As the bankruptcy court closes in on all of Laurent's assets, including Sylvie's (her savings, her apartment and her company), Sylvie warns Luc (Bruno Gouery) and Julien (Samuel Arnold) that they should look for new jobs as she is unsure whether Agence Grateau will be sold or liquidated.

When they return to Paris, Sylvie is pleasantly surprised to learn that Emily has turned down a job in the Marcello family business. However, she warns her that things may change at Agence Grateau and explains that the PR firm is having financial problems.

To keep them afloat, Sylvie has brought in an equity partner: Princess Jane (Minnie Driver), an old friend of hers.

Emily is confused because Jane made it clear that she doesn't have much money when they met in Italy. However, after her husband died unexpectedly, she learned that he left her his mansion and she was about to make a lot of money. Jane is currently co-director of Agence Grateau.

Gabriel invites Emily to visit him in Greece

Earlier this season, Emily connected Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) with a wealthy hotel developer who eventually offered him a job as a personal chef on his yacht. Gabriel then left his restaurant to travel the world with this man.

In the finale, Gabriel learns that he is taking a short break from work. Sylvie then writes to him that Emily has returned to Paris and is unmarried. Emily had previously asked Gabriel to send her a postcard, so he sends her one and invites her to join him in Greece.
