DNA confirms Kada Scott’s body found at Philadelphia school

Weekly search missing Philadelphia woman Kada Scott It culminated with the discovery of her remains in an abandoned school in Philadelphia over the weekend, officials confirmed.

On Saturday, police announced that they found the remains of a woman after receiving detailed information during the investigation into Scott's disappearance, but they also would not say they belonged to a missing woman who disappeared Oct. 4 after leaving her job at The Terrace nursing home in the Chestnut Hill neighborhood. Her identity has since been confirmed through DNA testing, Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said at a news conference Monday.

Scott cause of death not specifiedbut authorities said she likely died several days before her remains were found.

“This is an ever-evolving, evolving situation, both from an investigative standpoint and a prosecution standpoint,” Krasner said. “There are things we know today that we can't tell you and we cannot tell you this for a number of reasons.”

The grisly discovery comes days after authorities announced the arrest of 21-year-old Keon King in connection with a missing persons case. He has already been charged kidnapping, reckless endangerment and stalkingamong other things, and was being held on $2.5 million bail.

“I I'm sure the murder charges will be involved,” Krasner said, “But I also have an obligation to follow the law and uphold the Constitution. This means we don't take shortcuts.”

Police previously said King was the last person to contact Scott before she disappeared earlier this month. His cellphone was located in areas associated with her disappearance, prosecutor Ashley Toczylovsky told reporters, adding that there was extensive video evidence in the case.

She said authorities also “have reason to believe that other people could be involved after the fact,” which is “largely still under investigation.”
