Digimon fans can save on the original Digimon Adventure TV series at Amazon Black Friday Sale. Blu-ray edition with English dub Digimon Adventures: Season 1 on sale for $48 (was $80). Deals for Digimon Adventure tend to sell out quickly, with the English dubbed version typically selling for between $64 and full price. There hasn't been such a low price for the first season for almost six months.
The perfect deal for season 1 pairing is Digimon Movie Collection 1-3a prequel to the series, featuring newly restored uncut versions of the first three Digimon films. Digimon The Movies 1-3 Collection is on sale for an all-time low price of $18 (down from $30). Amazon Black Friday Sale Also Includes Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning on Blu-ray for $14.49 (was $27).

Digimon Adventure: Season 1 collects all 54 episodes of the original 1999 series across four Blu-ray discs. The total duration is more than 18 hours. Like many Discotek Media Blu-ray releases, Digimon Adventure has been restored with a high definition upgrade. The show is still presented in its original aspect ratio of 1.33:1, also known as 4:3, only with a change in resolution to 1080p.
The vastly improved picture is complemented by a clear DTS-HD MA 2.0 soundtrack. This is the same highly rated English dub that aired on the now-defunct Fox Kids channel, which means there are just as many quirky and hilarious jokes as you remember. Additional English subtitles are available for all episodes.
Bonus features include the usual clean openings/endings, alternate versions of episode previews, ending episode cards, trailers and promos, and a gallery with hundreds of behind-the-scenes artwork.
Discotek Media released the restoration of Digimon Adventure: Season 1 on Blu-ray in December 2022 and later released original Japanese version on Blu-ray in July 2023. The Japanese version retails for $70—$10 less than the full price English dub—but is currently sold out. As mentioned, Discotek's Digimon Adventure Blu-rays are usually out of stock at Amazon and other major retailers.
Digimon Adventure Blu-ray Offers
English dub Digimon Adventure 02 released on Blu-ray last year. Prices for subsequent episodes are also unpredictable. Earlier this month, Digimon Adventure 02 was $49 on Amazon, but at the time of writing it will set you back $65 (up from $80). Original Japanese version of Digimon Adventure 02 released earlier this year and is on sale for just $42 (was $70), its lowest price to date.
Digimon Movies on Blu-ray
Digimon Adventure is also the name of the first Digimon movie. Like the series, it was released in Japan in 1999. It was followed by Our War Game and Hurricane Landing in 2000. The first Digimon movie released in the United States, simply titled Digimon: The Movie, was an adaptation of these three films. The Discotek restoration brought uncut editions to the US with Digimon Movie Collection 1-3. Released last December, The Movies 1-3 also includes the original English version of Digimon: The Movie. Fans can also pre-order Digimon The Movies 4-6 Collection for $24 (was $30) ahead of release on December 30th.
The last film in the series is scheduled for 2023. Digimon Adventure 02: The Beginning. If you don't already have a copy, you can inexpensively add the Blu-ray and DVD combo pack to your collection.
