Hightail is approaching after spending more than half a century in limbo at Riot Games, which has now decided to sell it and transfer the rights to the original founders of Hypixel. After five years in the Riot Games box, Hightail was bought back by the original creators, who initially sold it to Riot in 2020. Now the game is finally coming out and is very cheap.
Besides the fact that it is cheap in itself, Hightail “will charge zero percent to modders and server owners for at least the first two years,” making server hosting and plugin development much easier and, well, cheaper. With all these pricing schemes, a game whose gameplay videos have already racked up millions of views in just a few days is likely to shake the foundations on which Mining craft still standing.
The latter developed extremely slowly, important features were released at a slower pace, and although the entire community participated, they were not often encouraged to develop anything on their own.
