Earlier this week Bethesda announced Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition coming to Switch 2with faster loading and improved resolution. Along with the gameplay trailer, the developer also shared a playful live-action trailer that shows Santa's elves getting ready for the holiday season.
Unfortunately, one of these elves got a little confused and lost Santa's entire important list. So, in an attempt to save Christmas, another elf offers to give everyone Skyrim. Switch 2. Santa is pleased with the idea, proclaiming “you are the son of the cocoa cup” as the elf's speech increases to 27.

Either way, some online have speculated that this moment in the Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim Anniversary Edition Switch 2 trailer is actually a small hint for Elder Scrolls 6. “The speech has increased to 27… Is Elder Scrolls 6 Confirmed to Release in 2027?” reads one response in the trailer. “RELEASE DATE FOR TES VI 20+27 = 2027 CONFIRMED,” exclaims another.
Some have since stated that this theory “isn't that far-fetched… because… why would they [choose] these figures relate in particular to the level and level of language skills.” Really, why…?
You can watch the trailer for yourself below. Do you think this is teasing a 2027 release date for Elder Scrolls 6?
The Elder Scrolls 6, of course, has been awaited for a long time, was first announced back in 2018. Last month Bethesda's Todd Howard said The Elder Scrolls 6 is “still a long way off”although its development is now a “daily matter”. Back in 2023 Howard admitted that he wished the game announcement had been more casual.. Additionally, in October 2023, Skyrim lead designer Bruce Nesmith reported that Bethesda had announced Elder Scrolls 6 when it did so in an attempt to calm the angry crowd, which had “pitchforks and torches”desperately trying to find out more.
More recently, Howard hasn't ruled out the possibility of adapting The Elder Scrolls for televisionalthough the studio head added that he was “prepared to say no within ten years” as he did with Fallout.
