Family, former colleagues, and sometimes both pay tribute to the deceased Diane Ladd. Laura Dern, who remembered her “amazing hero and my profound gift as a mother” in the tribute below, has starred alongside her mother in some of her most memorable roles, including Alice doesn't live here anymore And Wild at heart; both were nominated for Academy Awards for their roles in Rambling Rosemaking them the first mother and daughter actresses to be nominated for the same film. Bruce Dern, Ladd's ex-husband, her Wild angels Laura's co-star and father paid tribute to the “wonderful mother” Ladd was to their daughters. “My amazing hero and my profound gift of mother, Diane Ladd, walked by my side this morning at her home in Ojai, California.
She was the greatest daughter, mother, grandmother, actress, artist and sensitive spirit that seemingly only a dream could create.
We're lucky to have her
Now she flies with her angels.”

She lived a good life. She saw everything as it was. She was a great teammate to her fellow actors. She was funny, smart, kind.
But most importantly to me, she was a wonderful mother to our incredible child prodigy. And for that I will be forever grateful to her.”
