Dems Were Given a Chance to Put Their Money Where Their Mouth Is on Epstein Files – Guess What Happened – RedState

Republican Rep. Tim Burchett (TN-18) offered a softball to Democrats suddenly demanding public transparency regarding Jeffrey Epstein's files. They smelled worse than the Mighty Casey.

Why? Because it's all a political ploy to bring down their enemy, President Donald Trump.

As RedState Managing Editor Jennifer Van Laar reported on WednesdayDemocrats on the House Oversight Committee honestly believed they had finally cornered Trump when it came to the Epstein files. They released 20,000 documents from the estate of a deceased trafficker and then focused on three specific emails, taken out of context, that they believed showed something nefarious.

Instead, it caused quite a stir when it was revealed that the emails had removed all references to the “victim” in the case, who turned out to be Virginia Giuffre. This move was intentional. Giuffre said under oath that Trump never acted inappropriately with her and that she never saw him with Epstein.

Not to mention, one of the emails literally states that Trump demanded that Ghislaine Maxwell “stop” what they were doing to “the girls.”

“Democrats and their media lackeys are portraying these emails as exposé bombs,” Van Laar writes, “but all they show is how desperate Democrats are and demonstrate once again how low they are willing to stoop.”

It took less than 24 hours of the news cycle for the Democrats' bombshell to drop. It would be funny if it weren't so sad.

However, Burchett, encouraged by his colleagues on the other side's newfound interest in the Epstein files, decided to give them a chance to put their money where their mouth is. He went to the House of Representatives and asked for unanimous consent (UC), a procedural step that would expedite the release of all remaining Jeffrey Epstein files.

Instead, Democrats shriveled up faster than George Costanza after a swim in the pool.

Burchett said he reached out to the University of California in an attempt to “cut out all this nonsense,” but Democrats “blocked him, weirdly enough.”

“They kept it for four years, and they – obviously, if there was anything about Trump in there, they would have made it public,” Burchett explained. “And now they're all like, 'Let's get it out!' Let's get this out!”

“Well, I just made a move to take it straight to the floor and they blocked it,” he added. “This is politics… They should be ashamed, but probably not.”

Representative Burchett later explained to Newsmax that Democrats told the parliamentarian they would not agree to his UC request, effectively stalling the case.

“It was blocked. It was not unanimous,” he said. “So everything will go back to normal.”

As with everything associated with the Democratic Party, they have absolutely no interest in doing the right thing, no interest in trying to get to the bottom of the Epstein case, and no interest in holding people accountable. They see everything through a “Get Trump” lens.

And every time it fails.

Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson (R-LA) called out Democrats for their “hypocrisy” and scheduled a vote on a bill to release files related to Epstein next week.
