In a press release, Rosenberg, who has known the trio for more than three decades, shares what motivated him to make the documentary: “I have such respect for the artistry of this record, and I wanted to uncover the mythology and details of how something so special came to be. I had a few visual elements in mind before we even started, and as he describes it, Dan pushed and allowed us to explore what became the right tone for the album's story. It's an inspired record, so I feel like everything that comes out of it grows in a special way.”
News of the documentary came after anniversary tour of the groupwhich took place earlier this year.
