Today we are inundated with bad news. While it's important not to ignore it and be aware, we have the privilege of breathing while looking for humor.
It's no wonder we're fascinated by videos of Sphynxes or Boston Terriers, quick recipes for hidden dishes, or the footsteps of people dancing while eating chips. They simply clear our brain. Television has that power, too, even if the opportunities are less frequent this season. A few comedies, a few games, competitions, a few varieties manage to immerse us in little bubbles of hopeful well-being and calm our anxiety.
Game Master
Seeing Antoine Vézina play hide-and-seek with eggplants, Danique Martineau play potatoes in a sports competition, Megan Brouillard eat butter, Marie-Soleil Dion understand strange mimosas, José Gaudet draw deities, Neve surprise us, it's just so exciting.
Thursday, 20:00, on the Noovo channel.
Masked singers
The costumes for this friendly competition are stunning, the performances are impressive, but it is in the investigators' deductions and their wit that we find much of the fun. And let's face it, the sight of Bibi (puppeteer Michel Ledoux) and Genevieve (Sophie Dansereau) emerging from the camel leaves us speechless.
Sunday, 7:00 p.m., on TVA.
Hush, let's play!
Patrice L'Ecuyer has been hosting this good-natured daily gathering for 10 years. Stars love to participate in various challenges where words take priority. Seeing them struggle is an infectious joy.
Monday to Friday, 17:30, on ICI Télé.
One guy, one girl
More than ever, Sylvie is multiplying her tricks to prove she's in the game. She tries to be more environmentally friendly, wants to have friends who wear clothes, buys fashionable jeans, writes columns on the radio. Guy encourages her and judges her efforts as gently as ever. A dynamic that many couples have identified with for 25 years with equal effectiveness.
Monday, 19:30, on ICI Télé.
dog time
There are not many comedies on our air this fall. This is a double achievement: we can enjoy the exotic beauty of the Magdalene Islands and laugh at the advice of the happy-go-lucky, bohemian, willing but sweet Stephen.
Wednesday, 21:00, on ICI Télé.
Live from the universe
Regardless of the guest, the popular show led by France Beaudoin always surprises from the first notes. The medley, orchestrated by Jean-Benoît Lasante, is mesmerizing. It's a sweet mixture of fun and nostalgia that draws us into our living rooms.
Saturday, 19:00, on ICI TV.
100 geniuses
It's nice to see fulfilled young people who are proud of their knowledge, which often surpasses ours. The final sprint of this event, organized by Pierre-Yves Lord, keeps us on our toes and impresses.
Thursday, 20:00, on ICI TV.
What talent!
We fall in love with young people who bravely step onto the stage, those who humbly make a last-ditch effort after success in the past, and creative people who reveal their world in three minutes. We are often surprised. We love to see how moved Anne Dorval is, how Serge Denoncourt groans, how the audience applauds.
Monday to Thursday, 7:30 pm on Noovo.
Almost perfect dinner
Since 2008, strangers have been coming to surprise each other with their culinary skills. Sometimes it's more about the social aspect than talent in the kitchen. But every time it makes the evenings colorful. And the comments from Antoine Vezina (and at the time Andre Ducharme) are delightful.
Monday to Friday, 6:00 pm on Noovo.
Scammer
Guy Jodoin's follies mark the end of the day and the beginning of the evening. This is a daily break that accompanies meal preparation and triggers the need for rest. Improvisation, song, disguise – everything is possible.
Monday to Friday, 6:30 p.m. on TVA.
MasterChef Quebec
Since we have to eat three times a day and we all know what it takes to whip up a meal, it's all the easier to admire those who have special culinary skills. Even though it's a competition and the clock is always ticking, there's something mesmerizing about how the contestants work hard to create their recipe. We also love to see the self-actualization when the chefs praise the dish.
Monday to Wednesday at 7:30 pm and Sunday at 8:30 pm on TVA.
Piano audience
We experience wonderful emotions through the notes of a public piano. We love to see young prodigies, as well as older people, people returning to the piano or others who have dedicated themselves to it. It's easy to get caught up in performances, whether they're classical, pop, blues or new. Vivian Audet, Gregory Charles and their guests have the right and kind words.
Saturday, 9:00 p.m., on Tele-Quebec.
50 ways to kill your mother
This concept is very good. After Anaïs Favron, Mathieu Baron, Alexandre Ossan (Mona Grenoble), it is Alexandre Depatie's turn to involve his mother in all sorts of adventures. We love first for complicity, then for boldness, self-deprecation, the desire to surpass ourselves, and also because we enjoy seeing others comfortably experience strong emotions (including fear) in our living room.
Tuesday at 19:00, Wednesday at 20:30, Thursday at 21:00 on Unis TV.
