David Harbor
Strangely flicks off a fan's hat
Published
David Harbor was captured on video while filming Stranger Things in Encinitas, California over the weekend… the actor appeared to grab a man's hat and run after it.
The head scratching incident appears to have happened Saturday at the Encinitas gastropub Ale House.
Here's what's shown in the video, which we were only allowed to view… David enters the establishment and then – some time later – runs out, carrying a white cap in his hand. He then looks over his shoulder and yells, “Come on man, fucking catch me.”
The customer then appears to follow him, raising his hands in exasperation and saying, “What the hell did I do to you, dude?” A few moments later, a group of people who seemed to know the man who lost the hat came out of the bar to see what was going on.
A woman's voice can then be heard pleading, “Don't get into a fight!” as the man eventually returns to the bar with his hat. We're told there was nothing physical between them and they went their separate ways.
TMZ spoke to an eyewitness at the bar who told us…David was walking past the bar with a friend and a guy in a hat ran out to say hello. We're told David's friend told the guy they were seeing some girls, but then David said, “No, let's go to this guy's house.”
Our source says the guy thought it was strange and went back to the bar. We were soon informed that David had entered the bar, taken his hat and ran away. The witness says David put his hat on the ground and asked the group about the Iraq War, then began to worry before kneeling down to pray.
We reached out to David to get his side of the story… no response yet.
However, a source with direct knowledge tells TMZ… “David has always been honest about his struggles with bipolar disorder. I wouldn't be surprised if he's dealing with this after working non-stop all year and having his personal life under intense public scrutiny. It would be stressful for anyone, but even more so for someone with bipolar disorder.”
David himself has openly discussed He has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder in the past.
This comes after the Stranger Things actor came under fire over reports that his co-star Millie Bobby Brown filed a complaint against him for bullying and harassment during the filming of the final season of the Netflix show. Executive Producer Shawn Levy and Millie herself came forward and categorically denied these claims.
In fact, the actress told Deadline that she has a particularly strong connection with David. Millie noted that she and David play father and daughter on the show… so the two have been acting opposite each other for years and have developed a good relationship.
