David Coverdale Shares Final Whitesnake Music Video for ‘Forevermore’

The emotional visual for the new version of “Forevermore” arrives just over a week after the singer announced his departure.

A little over a week after he announced his retirementsinger David Coverdale shared his latest music video with the legends of eighties hair metal, Whitesnake.

The video is dedicated to a new version of “Forevermore”, the title track from Whitesnake's 2011 album, which will soon be re-released. This version was produced by Coverdale and features a fresh orchestral arrangement by Hook City Strings.

The dramatic new version of the song is a fitting choice for Coverdale's final video with Whitesnake. Directed by Payton Murphy, the video shows Coverdale and Hook City Strings performing the song in a simple studio space painted white with photos of Coverdale and his loved ones in the background.

Coverdale announced his retirement on social media on November 13, admitting that after more than 50 years, he realized “it's really time for me to hang up my rock 'n' roll platform shoes and skinny jeans.”

He continued: “It's time to end. I love you very much. I thank everyone who has helped and supported me on this incredible journey: all the musicians, the crew, the fans and the family. It's amazing. But it's really time for me to just enjoy retirement, and I hope you appreciate that.”

Along with the vocals of Whitesnake, who became one of the biggest bands of the eighties with hits such as “Here I Come Again” and “Is This Love” – Coverdale sang with Deep Purple and Jimmy Page. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 as part of Deep Purple. Coverdale toured with Whitesnake as recently as 2022, but a sinus infection prevented him from continuing to perform.
