Former American Idol star David Archuleta might be heading back to the stars… Star Search, that is, because he told TMZ he's very curious about the upcoming reboot.
Here's the thing… the talent show Celebrity Search, which aired from the '80s to the early 2000s, is returning to Netflix with a reboot hosted by Anthony Anderson The premiere will take place early next year.
David told a TMZ reporter Charlie Neff he's excited to see how different the show will be – while retaining its original magic – from when he was on it in 2003 when he was 12 years old.
The “Crush” singer tells us… appearing and winning the title of Junior Vocal Champion was a major milestone in his career and helped him prepare for his performance on “American Idol”, where he finished in 2nd place, losing to the winner. David Cook in 2008.
David, who is preparing for his “My only wish“The Christmas Tour is not only excited to see the reboot…he also tells us he'd love to be involved as a judge, helping shape the lives of up-and-coming musicians.
As for Anthony Anderson as the new host, David tells us he's the perfect choice… but still, Anthony has a huge hole to fill… because Ed McMahon And Arsenio Hall obviously legends.
It will be interesting to see the next generation of stars rise up after the reboot… since the original introduced us to A-listers like Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Dave Chappelle And Justin Timberlake.
