Since its first release in 2021, Wordle has taken the world by storm. No doubt the pandemic years and the sudden surge in interest in classic puzzles contributed to this. But many fought for the crown, and the latest of them was a film with a strange, but no less intriguing title. Dave's word game it is scheduled to launch for iOS and Android on December 15th.
At first glance, there are a huge number of similarities between Bearwaves' debut and the giant that now belongs to NYT. But if you look closely, you can spot some differences. Instead of just finding words, you also form a board, aiming to create as many words as possible to achieve a high score.
You also need to be tactical with your choices because a bad move means you could end up missing out on better opportunities later. The emphasis here is, of course, the same as in Wordle: get all your friends to play and ultimately prove that you are the best wordsmith.
What word creation
Look, I write for a living, so the last thing I want to do is test my acumen (word knowledge) as a pastime. But for those of you who like to not only show off your thesaurus-level knowledge but also fool around with your friends, this will be a great new addition to your catalog.
I'm not sure exactly who this Dave is, but it looks like their wordplay has the potential to leave its mark. Of course, to compete with Wordle it would have to be really good. So we hope that a more strategic approach will encourage players to give it a try.
