Mintrocket spoke more about the upcoming Dave Diver In The Jungle DLC in the latest vlog, including new locations, gameplay and mechanics.
There was DLC first announced at last year's The Game Awards show me, but back in June it was postponed until 2026. The exact release date is still unknown, but we now know more about what's included in its 10-hour runtime.
First we will visit the village of Utara, located in the jungle. Here, time flows in real time, and Dave can spend his time befriending villagers, collecting resources, and completing quests, all presented in an isometric view. It all sounds a lot like Animal Crossing.
This look also works for the new Bancho Grill restaurant. Instead of a fixed horizontal movement like in the main game, Dave will be able to move freely around this restaurant and fellow villagers will come over to eat.
And this time it's a grill and not a sushi restaurant, since the aquatic life of a freshwater lake requires cooking before eating.
As for the lake, expect plenty of dangers such as piranhas and crocodiles, as well as tasty fish. Dave will be equipped with the new Jungle Gun, which will be able to freely transform between a netgun, shotgun, sniper, etc., which should make underwater combat a little more flexible.
Overall, it feels like a significant expansion of the base game, with Mintrocket experimenting with both gameplay and mini-games.
Next year, Dave the Diver will also be moving to mobile devices, first in China and then worldwide. It will be fully optimized for the platform, including the appropriate controls.
This follows the game released on Xbox last monthannounced at the Xbox Partner Preview, means the game is now available on PC (Steam, Epic), PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch consoles.
