After several tests and examinations, the last of which took place in October, he learned that he had cancer again; this time they found P16-positive squamous cell carcinoma of the oropharynx, a type of tongue cancer. “They said it was completely unrelated to my non-Hodgkin's lymphoma. It's a new type of cancer… I said, 'Are you kidding me?'” Coulier said. Luckily, he was almost done with treatment. “We caught it early and it's very treatable… The cure rate is 90%,” says Coulier, who will be undergoing treatment until the end of the year. “The doctor said the prognosis is good, but we're going to start radiation right away.”

Earlier this year, Coulier celebrated his final treatment for stage 3 non-Hodgkin's lymphoma with his former co-stars. “We're a family and so we get these text lines and it's always funny and it keeps us connected,” Coulier general his Full house support from friends March 31st. “And, you know, Candace [Cameron Bure] called me on FaceTime a couple of times, and Laurie [Loughlin] Called me on FaceTime a couple of times. John [Stamos] I enjoy FaceTimes every day. We are very close. I love them all very much.” He first shared his diagnosis on November 24 and has since become an advocate for testing and early detection. “The silver lining here is that I had cancer, which helped me find another cancer. Such a statement seems crazy, but it’s true,” he concluded.
