She is the last of a series of players, including Elina Svitolina and Beatrice Hadadd Maya who decided to finish their seasons early for additional rest.
The last match of Kasatkina in the tour was a direct loss for Sonya Partal in the second round of China to open on September 27, and her last Tour title was on the Ningbo Open in October 2024.
