Three more teams have announced their rosters for the upcoming men's Olympic hockey tournament.
The Czech Republic, Latvia and France announced their squads on Tuesday morning, as announced by the IIHF on social media. The Czech Republic and France were drawn into Group A with Canada and Switzerland, while Latvia was drawn into Group C with the USA, Germany and Denmark.
The Czech Republic's roster is the deepest in the NHL, led by superstar scorers David Pastrnak, Martin Necas and Tomas Hertl. Other NHL players on the team include Anaheim Ducks captain Radko Gudas, Vancouver Canucks defenseman Filip Hronek and all three goaltenders: Lukas Dostal (Ducks), Dan Vladar (Flyers) and Karel Wejmelka (Mammoth). Canada opens the tournament against the Czech Republic on February 12.
Team Latvia has less NHL talent, but is led by two NHL goaltenders in Elvis Merzlikins (Blue Jackets) and Arturs Silov (Penguins). Other NHL players on the list include center Teddy Blueger of the Vancouver Canucks and veteran Zemgus Girgensons of the Tampa Bay Lightning. Latvia will begin play against the USA on February 12.
France has only one NHL player this season, Alexandre Texier of the Montreal Canadiens, and he leads the team. The French roster also includes veteran Pierre-Edouard Bellemare, who has played 700 NHL games and is now in his second season in Switzerland. France will play Canada to close the group stage on February 15.
