- Crunchyroll Game Vault Celebrates Two Years of Operation
- The streamer's additional subscription gaming service boasts a number of exclusives.
- Two new releases have been confirmed: Lost Hellden and Beyblade X Xone.
With two years behind me, Crunchyroll Game Vault was one of the dark horses in the subscription gaming world. With an extensive catalog of the best releases from Japan, including many additional releases, the Crunchyroll Game Vault has proven to be quite popular among fans.
For those unaware, the Crunchyroll Game Vault is not only about bringing Japan-only mobile games to the West, but also a slew of debut releases never before seen on our humble platform. For example, Crunchyroll's exclusive mobile port of Shogun Showdown was Pocket Gamer People's Choice Awards Nominee months ago.
Interestingly, the first one is none other than a JRPG developed in France! Lost Hellden brings you handcrafted 3D art based on illustrations by Takeshi Oga and music by composer Hitoshi Sakimoto. In addition to coming to PC and consoles, the game will also debut on mobile devices thanks to Game Vault.
Let it break!
On the other hand, we have a slightly more familiar name in the form of Beyblade X Xone. [sic]! Based on the anime series of the same name, which you can naturally catch on Crunchyroll, it promises the same high-octane action that got these toys banned from schoolyards.
While this announcement may seem a bit relaxed, it seems fair for Game Vault to rest on its laurels a bit. Over the past few years, we've seen a lot of interesting games come to mobile devices thanks to the service, so you can bet I'm expecting more.
But if you're skeptical of both subscription games and traditional app stores, you may find yourself at a loss. In that case, why not get out of the AppStore and head into the world of third parties with our eponymous feature and see what Will thinks? This week's topic: The Ascension of Blackjack?
