A Royal Caribbean Cruise passenger whose family recently filed a wrongful death lawsuit was handed a staggering amount of booze before being choked to death by security guards… just like George Floydthe family's lawyer told TMZ.
Remember, we broke history… Michael Virgil's family filed a lawsuit Monday vs cruise line next his death last December after drinking a ton of alcoholic drinks.
Advocate Kevin Haynes now reports TMZ… Virgil was allegedly served a mixture of beer and hard liquor – drinking a whopping 33 drinks in seven hours before he left, completely exhausted, to look for his family in their cabin. Even though Virgil had an unlimited drinks package, Haynes still says there should be limits!
According to the lawsuit, Michael's drunken search for his family proved fruitless… leaving him so agitated that he tore off his shirt and broke down doors.

Haynes tells us… the guards were called and put their entire body on Virgil, “choking” him for about 3 minutes. This, combined with all the booze in his system and the sedatives, was Virgil's cause of death, according to Haynes' report and the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office. Haynes stressed that Virgil's death was “reminiscent of the death of George Floyd.”
The lawsuit further states that Virgil was the victim of “excessive force and fatal actions taken by crew members” who “injected the sedative Haloperidol and used multiple canisters of pepper spray.”
What's more, Haynes says Royal Caribbean refused to provide surveillance video to find out who served Virgil all the alcohol.
The FBI has opened an investigation, but the current status of the investigation is unclear, Haynes said. We've reached out to Royal Caribbean and the FBI for comment…no response yet.
