“Compass Rose”, the upcoming pirate survival adventure formerly known as Side windpresented its new look at the PC Gaming Show: Most Wanted. Developer Windrose Crew has shared a fresh trailer that features ship combat, exploration, and on-foot action, giving a broader look at what players can expect when the game hits Steam.
The story is set in the era of piracy and follows a freelance courier who is betrayed and abandoned after a mission fails. A simple struggle for survival gradually escalates into a much larger conflict involving rival empires, pirate factions, and a shadowy force moving silently across the seas. The narrative travels through ports, islands and choppy waters, drawing on both personal and global stakes.
Players command a wide variety of ship types, from fast boats to versatile frigates and huge galleons. Naval battles smoothly transition from long-range artillery fire to boarding battles. Coastal fortresses take damage from afar before combat even moves ashore, and the game supports co-op play for groups who want to sail and explore together.
Survival is the core of the experience. A number of biomes offer materials for crafting tools, building shelters, and turning those shelters into organized outposts. Crew members directly increase gathering and production when you hire them, making resource management more efficient as challenges escalate.
Combat combines precision and adaptability. The combination of melee and firearms allows for a variety of approaches, with parrying, dodging and strategic strikes playing an important role. Challenging bosses guard valuable rewards, challenging players to improve their skills as they progress.
