Critical Role Shares Mighty Nein Season 1 Behind The Scenes Facts

Taliesin, we'll see a lot of Molly in the first season, and you can really start fleshing out storylines that happened much later in the second campaign, like Wess DeRogna. How did you manage to add pieces of his story to the very beginning this time?

Taliesin: It really was so nice to be able to start planting things from the beginning. It was really very exciting. I mean, some of them have deep knowledge hidden in them in very, very quiet ways. And that's very exciting for people who know that we can literally start from day one and the inevitability of this terrible, terrible, terrible thing is just lurking in the background. It's hard in campaigns when you think you have enough time to write something into the story, and then suddenly you think: Oh, I should have gotten there faster.

Travis: Vess DeRogna, who is this incredibly powerful archmage, is another member of the Cerberus Assembly besides Trent Ikiton, who by the way is just lame, like, holy crap. And he doesn't even really try. But you know Wess should be able to back him up, and T'Nia Miller absolutely shines. Just a voice to die for and hear her early explorations of following the book, after Eor, going after things that weren't even revealed to us until years later in the campaign, it's just such wonderful fruit on the tree. So, we just loved planting these things and creating these powerful characters that, like an inevitable pinball machine, our characters would crash into at some point. These are simply some of the best things.

Taliesin: She's terrible.

Laura: And all the interactions between her and Trent. Their convoys are JUICY!
