Critical Role dropped The Mighty Nein’s first episode on YouTube

Critical Role and Prime Video quietly ceased to exist Mighty Nein Today is the first animated series on YouTube.

The episode, titled “Hammer of Opportunity,” is 45 minutes long, which is very different from The Legend of Vox Machina's The duration of the episode is 22-25 minutes. However, they are still based on the Dungeons and Dragons campaign played by Critical Role.

According to Polygon, the premiere introduces the characters who will soon become the party known as the Mighty Nein. We meet Caleb Widogast (Liam O'Brien), a wizard described as “unlucky”, a goblin girl known as Nott the Brave (Sam Riegel), and Beauregard Lyonette (Marisha Ray).

The action takes place in Exandria. same setting as The Legend of Vox Machina, Mighty Nein adapts critical roles “Campaign 2”. Unlike Vox Machina, the Mighty Nein are not prototype heroes. Instead, they are outcasts who must learn to play well and work together to save the world – just like in the original real-life campaign.

To add a little more context for those unfamiliar, Mighty Nein And The Legend of Vox Machina based on two campaigns from media company Critical Rolein which the voice actors play full Dungeons and Dragons podcast campaign. “Campaign 1” was The Legend of Vox Machina, while the previously mentioned “Campaign 2” was Mighty Nein.

Currently, the first episode is only available on YouTube and not Amazon Prime. However, YouTube's fall will not last long as the first episode Mighty Nein will be removed on November 16th at 2:59 am ET/11:59 am PT. The official premiere of the first three episodes will take place on November 19 exclusively on Prime Video.
