Forward Logan Nijhoff has finally been released from hospital after he was cut in the face by a skate during the Trois-Rivières Lions' first game.
The 24-year-old has reportedly spent four nights in the Trois-Rivières hospital center following the incident in the first period of last Friday's first leg at the Coliseum Videotron stadium. Nuvellist.
After being hit in the face by a Reading Royals player's skate, Nyhoff immediately retired to the locker room and then headed to the hospital.
Lions president Alex Cousineau clarified in the hours that followed that Nyhoff's eye was fortunately unharmed. However, the player received stitches to close the wound.
It is currently unknown when he will be able to return to the game.
Originally from British Columbia, Nyhoff played 58 games for Trois-Rivières last season, scoring 25 goals and 49 points. He added 12 points during the Lions' playoff run, which ended with a Kelly Cup victory.
He also appeared in eight games for the Laval Rocket, recording one assist.
In September 2024, he attended the Canadiens' rookie camp as a guest player.
