Next release of the latest Wonder Man trailerinteresting pictures started flooding Marvel Studiossocial media accounts hinting at the role of superpowers in the new show. While it might seem obvious for a franchise built on superhumans, the trailers so far have deliberately tried to hide Simon Williams' (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) abilities, and now it's clear why.
An exceptionally composed new preview finally reveals some of the many abilities Williams puts on the back burner to make it in Hollywood. Unfortunately, it appears that Damage Control is keen to tag and contain anyone with an enhanced spring in their step, making life difficult for Simon. The Marvel Studios X account highlights this with close-ups of newspapers and trade magazines reporting that cast and crew on projects are required to sign a “doorman” policy that certifies that they are simply talented actors with no additional special benefits.

BREAKING: Hollywood Bans Superpowers; actors are now required to sign a “Doorman” waiver certifying that they are not superhuman. Will this affect listening to Von Kovack's “Miracle Man”? pic.twitter.com/65bYMS2vppJanuary 2, 2026
To the uninformed, the above policy may mean nothing, but it's worth noting that Shoreman is actually the name of a teleporting superhero who was a member of the West Coast Avengers and who is set to be played by Byron Bowers in the series (via ComicBookFilm). However, his abilities were not a fluke. DeMarr Davis, aka Shoreman, was actually a mutant, as was Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) and the upcoming X-Men, who are set to appear at some point in the MCU.
With this in mind, it's likely that the series will rewrite Simon Williams' origin story. like Ms. Marvel didmaking him a mutant and not, as in the comics, a creation of Baron Zemo (played by Daniel Brühl in the MCU). This would be a great way to not only explain why Williams remained under the radar for so long in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but also to slowly integrate a new batch of mutants down the line.
Of course, we'll see some mutants from another reality as Charles Xavier (Patrick Stewart), Magneto (Ian McKellen) and some of the X-Men join the fight against Victor Von Doom (Robert Downey Jr.) when Avengers: Judgment Day hits theaters on December 18, 2026.
