“Contact me” – Keanu Reeves could be back in Cyberpunk 2 if series creator has his way

Keanu Reeves has made no secret of his desire to return to the world of cyberpunk after his role as Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077 – although this may be a bit difficult given events. However, series creator Mike Pondsmith is addressing the issue, stating that he has found “ways” to make it possible.

Back in September, when Reeves was asked if he would like to return to developer CD Projekt's upcoming Cyberpunk 2077 sequel, said he would “love” to play Johnny Silverhand again. Of course, this is great news for Reeves/Silverhand fans, but it's easier to say it's done given that the character's narrative trajectory has left him, well, otherwise busy by the time the credits roll.

But it looks like Cyberpunk series creator Mike Pondsmith has risen to the challenge, paving the way for a potential return. “Not too long ago,” he said in Cyberpunk 2077. live broadcast of a recent anniversary“I could see that Keanu would love to find a way to come back from the dead and play Johnny again.”

“I have ways to do this, Keanu,” he continued mysteriously. “Contact me.” Of course, considering admission he's “not as directly involved” in Cyberpunk 2 compared to the first, CD Projekt may already have other ideas.

To date, little is officially known about the sequel other than the fact. preparations for production are underway. In May, CD Projekt confirmed that approximately 100 developers were working on the project, with the bulk of the studio focused on The Witcher 4. However, that doesn't mean it remains a complete mystery.

Earlier this year Pondsmith stated that there will be a second city in Cyberpunk 2 – in addition to Night City – it's like “Chicago gone wrong.” This may not be a big surprise though; Cyberpunk 2077's Phantom Freedom The expansion provides a possible ending, set several years later, after the Transcontinental Magnetic levitation network project mentioned in the base game, linking Night City to Chicago, is revealed to have been completed.
