Davis Alexander will make his first career start against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Saturday afternoon in the Eastern semi-finals. The young defender is looking forward to the challenge and doesn't back down from his opponent's messages.

Winnipeg defenseman Willie Jefferson said in interview with Blue Bombers website earlier this week he said his team needed to take a villainous stance, saying they should be able to go to someone's house and “knock down the door and take everything off the table.”

Alexander responded to Jefferson when asked about the comment during his Media availability on Friday reporter from Winnipeg.

“We see everything they say,” he said. “We don't pay too much attention to it, but when I get home, I go and look at these things. Bring Willie, bring Winnipeg. What does he say? Come to Winnipeg. Well, come to Montreal – let's see what happens.”

The Gig Harbor, Washington native finished the season completing 72.5 percent of his passes for 2,024 yards, 10 touchdowns and three interceptions. He hasn't played in the playoffs since his senior year of high school, but he feels ready to go and wants to prove he's more than just a regular-season player.

“I hope they come for me, I'm made for this. If they don't believe me, they'll find out.” he added in an interview with TSN. “We were very good offensively in the regular season when I played. It doesn't matter. Nobody's going to remember that guy who had a masterclass in the regular season – you've got to be that guy in the playoffs, you've got to be a killer, and you've got to go out and find a way to win, no matter what it takes.”

The Montreal Alouettes also responded to Willie Jefferson's comments on social media.

The team used several video clips of UFC legend Georges St-Pierre from the pre-fight press conference. St-Pierre hinted that his opponent had “lost his mind” and that he would “find out on Saturday.”

Clearly the table is set for a tense battle between these two teams.

The Montreal Alouettes (10-8) will host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (10-8) in the Eastern Semi-Finals at Percival Molson Stadium on Saturday, November 1, with kickoff scheduled for 2:00 pm ET. The two teams met at Princess Auto Stadium in the final week of the regular season. The Blue Bombers came away with a 19-10 win..

The Montreal weather forecast calls for a high of 8 degrees with sunny and cloudy skies. The game will be broadcast on TSN, RDS and CTV in Canada and CFL+ worldwide. Radio listeners can tune in to 680 CJOB in Winnipeg and TSN 690 in Montreal.
