Entering the final month of the regular season, 11 of the 67 Power Four teams are still seeking their first conference victory. Evaluating the remaining schedules of these struggling teams, it is likely that we will surpass last year's performance of the three P4 teams who finished without a league win.
A year ago these three teams were Purdue, Mississippi And Oklahoma State. The three are yet again winless in the league as the calendar is about to flip to November. At the moment they have many companies.
If Penn State And Michigan are still among the four winless Big Ten teams in the Nov. 15 league and will have to give something up as they play each other that day. But other than those two, none of the nine Power Four teams still chasing the league are playing their winless brethren.
The situation looks especially grim for Purdue and Wisconsin. The Boilermakers have played ranked opponents in three of their last four games and are 6-2 on the road in the other matchup. Washington team. Wisconsin plays four teams that are 5-3 or better down the stretch.
This year the Bottom 25 formula has been changed to ensure fair representation across the sport. Each of the Power Four leagues receives an automatic bid to the final 25 each week, and a total of 10 Power Four schools must be represented.

Bluegrass blues
Following season 4-8, Kentucky will exit October without a win over a Power Four opponent. Fiery Mark Stoops, huh? Well, it's not that simple. How The Lexington Herald-Leader reports. If fired, Stoops would be owed nearly $38 million within 60 days. This differs from many coach buyouts, which can be spread over the life of the contract and mitigated against the coach's future earnings. WITH Auburn, Florida And Tennessee Institute of Technology next, maybe the Cats can catch fire and save the season. But based on what we've seen so far, that seems unlikely.

Useless victories
Typically, a win for any team in the bottom 25 is considered such an impressive achievement that it leads to a big jump. Often a team in the bottom 25th position drops out of the rankings altogether after a win. But in South Alabama case victory with a score of 38-31 State of Georgia I barely moved the needle. Why? Because it was against Georgia State. This is what we call a “Bottom 25 Battle Royale” and you won't get much credit for beating one of the few teams that are actually worse than you.

#1 vs #11 (sort of)
Idea Ohio being ranked No. 1 with Penn State ranked No. 11 heading into a Week 10 showdown would make sense heading into the season. …until they told you Penn State is ranked 11th in the bottom 25. Even an 11th place finish in the AP poll at this point would be a disappointment for the Nittany Lions in what was shaping up to be an “all right” year. But “disappointing” is not a good enough term to describe Penn State's level of failure in 2025. That's why it would be so fun if he beat Ohio State this year for the first time since 2016.

Wisconsin reaches milestone
It's too early to call it an offensive revival, but Wisconsin reached a milestone in a 21-7 loss Oregonas the Badgers broke a 14-quarter touchdown drought. Yes, that's right. The Badgers did not score a single touchdown between the first quarter of October and the last quarter of October. But the long nightmare ended late last Saturday: Hunter Simmons'2 yard touchdown pass Lance Mason. Can Wisconsin score more than two touchdowns in November? All opponents are 5-3 or better, so it could be close.

Bad Charlotte
Charlotte did some damn cool things for a quarter and a half. The 49ers were in the lead. North Texasone of the best teams in America, with a record of 17-7. After that, they showed why they had become a mainstay in the seediest rungs of the 25th. North Texas outscored Charlotte 47-3 in the final two and a half quarters. The 49ers gave up 27 points in the fourth quarter alone with Mean Green at quarterback. Drew Placemaker threw for a school record 608 yards. When all was said and done, Charlotte had given up 754 yards.
