COGconnected’s 2025 Holiday PC Gift Guide

PC Holiday Gift Guide for 2025

As the holiday season approaches, a wallet-busting monster appears on the horizon. This time you are ready, and yet! There's a PC gamer on your shopping list. What to do? Perhaps one of these select items from our gift guide will bring some much-needed joy and surprise as December ends.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II

A few years ago, medieval chaos fell off most people's entertainment lists. But Kingdom Come wants to change that. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II continues the epic story started in the first game, but things get a little bigger and bolder than before. The story is amazing, the action is exceptional, and the world is truly huge. What better way to enjoy the holidays than in a huge single-player RPG?

Battlefield 6

If you have Battlefield fans on your list, bad news: They've definitely already bought this game. On the other hand, do you want to attract a new Battlefield fan? Battlefield 6 this is a great way to do it. There are seven different multiplayer modes to choose from and plenty of ways to start a war. Tons of weapons, intense vehicular combat, and a wide variety of levels will keep you hooked for hours.

Hades 2 (1.0)

All Hades fans want is more Hades. So a sequel that's twice the size of the original is a great gift idea. Hades 2 (1.0) there are more weapons to master, more levels, more frustrating boss battles, and more to work with. The combat is more challenging, the writing is charming, and the visuals are simply amazing. They will play it until 2026.

Hollow Knight: Silk Song

This game has been on many wishlists for years. Hollow Knight set the gold standard for Metroidvania games, so much so that we might have to call them something else in the future. Hollow Knight: Silk Song is a marked improvement in every important way, and is what you're really hoping for in a sequel.

Peak

Giant AAA masterpieces are great, but there's something magical about indie multiplayer nonsense. Why not climb the mountain with a few good friends? Of course, you may not all survive, but that's part of the thrill! Fresh air, exercise and adventure await you on your holiday at the Peak!

Ancient Ring: The Kingdom of Night

It's already very, very difficult in Elden Ring. But it can be more complicated. Ancient Ring: The Kingdom of Night takes the existing Soulsborne epic and mixes it with roguelike and multiplayer elements. The results are, to put it mildly, a little chaotic. If you have a Soulsborne player on your list, why not reward/punish them with this game?

Recognized

If your loved ones prefer more colorful and action-packed role-playing games, how about Recognized? This first-person swords and sorcery epic is guaranteed to scratch that monster-slaying itch. Obsidian has created a rich, vibrant world full of charming characters and hideous beasts. The game also looks fantastic if you have the hardware to allow it to run properly. An excellent choice for those who want to show off the incredible power of their PC.

Civilization VII

I know people who still play Civ 5 regularly to this day and are religiously devoted to the franchise because of the game. Civilization VII is the kind of gift that could change the trajectory of some gamers' lives. Perhaps someone on your shopping list! Why not treat that special someone to countless late-night activities full of challenging strategy and fantastic last-minute twists? Previously, history was hardly so rich and accessible.

Assassin's Creed Shadows

It was only a matter of time before the Assassin's Creed series came to Japan. Why not? There is so much rich knowledge about killers to draw from. If you're a fan of stealth combat, epic stories, and more focused exploration, this game could be a great idea. There's never a bad time to dive into the Assassin's Creed franchise, and Shadows makes a great entry point. You even have two different main characters to choose from, each with their own fighting style! What's not to love?

Blue Prince

Puzzle roguelikes weren't anything special back in the day. Blue Prince came. But the game makes a compelling case for creating a new subgenre. Indeed, this simple formula leaves so much room for new cool ideas to enter your brain. Each new room is a chance for a new incredible mystery that will steal your sleep and rearrange your gray matter. There's probably someone on your shopping list who's ready to go crazy with a new puzzle. Based on the reviews, it seems like most people would be thrilled to have their world rocked in this way.
