- Claude releases Memory for Pro and Max users
- This makes your experience more personal and effective.
- You can import memory from ChatGPT and Gemini.
Anthropic is improving its artificial intelligence chatbot Claude with the new Memory feature now available to paid subscribers on the $20/month Pro and $100 Max plans. Memory is designed to make Claude even more intuitive and personalized so it can adapt to your context and operating patterns.
The main feature of memory is the ability to remember past conversations and interactions, meaning Claude can be more relevant and effective in his responses.
A key aspect of Claude's new Memory feature is transparency. You will be able to get complete information about what Claude remembers, and you will also be able to view and edit his memories at any time.
Additionally, Claude gives you the ability to easily import or export your memory from other AI platforms such as ChatGPT or Twinswhich means a smooth transition if you want to consolidate your AI tools.
A year in Claude
It's been a busy year for Anthropic. In recent months, the company has introduced web search to provide real-time information. Voice mode for hands-free collaboration, and Explore for deeper exploration. There were also instruments that connected Claude with Google workspace, Microsoft 365, Canva, Figma and others, as well as Claude Code access for coding projects.
As Mike Krieger, Claude's Chief Product Officer, notes, “We're committed to making sure Claude understands your entire work context and automatically adapts. Memory starts with project continuity, but it's really about creating sustainable, thoughtful partnerships that evolve over weeks and months.”
Separate spaces
Claude has the ability to create separate memory areas, so if you manage multiple projects, each one can have its own separate memory. This means work tasks like product roadmaps can remain separate from your creative writing, for example.
Your control over Claude's memory is fully granular, with simple on/off switching and the ability to delete specific memories or use Incognite chat for a clean slate.
By turning on Memory, you can choose whether to build conversations from existing conversations or start over. Once you choose a starting point, Claude will begin to create context that improves with each conversation.
Max subscribers will find “Storage” in Settings today. Pro subscribers will see it roll out in the coming days.
