Chip Wilson pushing for leadership change on Lululemon board – Winnipeg Free Press

VANCOUVER — Chip Wilson says he has nominated three directors for Lululemon Athletica Inc.'s board of directors as he seeks changes to the leadership and strategy of the company he founded.

In his statement, Wilson says the current board lacks the “visionary, creative leadership” needed to keep the company thriving.

His three candidates include Mark Maurer, former co-CEO of On Holding AG, Laura Gentile, former chief marketing officer of ESPN, and Eric Hirshberg, former CEO of Activision.

The nominations come after the company announced earlier this month that current CEO Calvin McDonald will step down from his role effective Jan. 31 as the search for a new leader continues.

Wilson, who remains a major shareholder of the company, said the search for a CEO should be led by new, independent directors.
