Childish Gambino reveals he had a stroke last year, which forced him to cancel tour

Donald Glover talks about a recent health scare that forced him cancel your last year's tour. He called it an “illness” at the time, but on Saturday night at the show, Glover said a doctor told him he had suffered a stroke.

Glover, who performs under the stage name Childish Gambino, shared the information on stage at Tyler's Creator's Camp Flog Gnaw festival in Los Angeles. His remarks were widely circulated on social networks.

“You guys voted for the ‘Where Was I?’ monologue,” Glover, 42, said. “I had a really bad headache in Louisiana and I still did the show. I couldn't see very well, so when we went to Houston, I went to the hospital and the doctor said, “You've had a stroke.”

Glover said he felt like he was letting everyone down and regretted not having been to Ireland before. He also said he was “discovered with a hole in his heart” and had to have two surgeries.

“They say everyone has two lives, and the second life begins when you realize you have one,” Glover said. “You guys have one life, and honestly, the life I lived with you guys was such a blessing.”
