Kansas City Chiefs said in a statement Wednesday night that they were aware of allegations of domestic violence made in a series of social media posts by wide receiver Rusha Rice's ex-girlfriend and were in contact with the NFL.

Executives did not mention Rice by name in their statement and said they “will not be making further comment at this time.”

Dakoda Nicole Jones also did not mention Rice by name when she posted a series of photos on Instagram earlier in the day that showed signs of physical abuse. Jones said the man was the father of her children, and the woman has two children with Rice, who was selected by the Chiefs in the second round of the 2023 draft.

There were no police reports in the Kansas City suburb of Overland Park, Kansas, where Jones claims the violence took place.

Rice missed the first six games this season. after NFL suspension for his role in a Dallas highway crash that injured multiple people during the 2024 offseason. Rice was sentenced to 30 days in jail and five years probation after pleading guilty to third-degree felony charges of hit-and-run causing great bodily injury and highway racing resulting in bodily injury.

Rice finished with 53 catches for 571 yards and five touchdowns as Kansas City went 6-11. and missed the playoffs for the first time in a decade.
