Charli XCX Appears on SNL in Kansas City T-Shirt

Introductory song Taylor Swift's The life of a dancer references the character Ophelia from William Shakespeare's Hamletwho faces a tragic fate.

According to the song's lyrics, Taylor “might have drowned in melancholy” if true love hadn't saved her.

“I heard you calling / Through the megaphone,” Taylor sings. “You want to see me all alone.”

The lyrics seem to hint at Travis Kelsey calls Taylor out on his New Heights podcast for not meeting him on her Eras Tour, and that's how their romance began.

“I swore allegiance to myself, myself and myself,” the lyrics continue. “Right before you lit up my sky.”

Before meeting Travis, Taylor had just gone through a breakup with Matty Healyhaving declared itself one of the “independent girls” in July 2023.

But after Travis went to her concert in Kansas City that same month, sparks began to fly.

Now Taylor's fiancé is even getting in on her Easter egg game, teasing the lyrics to “Ophelia's Destiny” on Instagram back in July. (He's had some adventures this offseason,” he captioned photos with Taylor, adding, “Saving this. [100]”)

How does this relate to Taylor's song? Well, as the lyrics say, “You dug me out of the grave and saved my heart from Ophelia’s fate / Hold it to a hundred.”
