Can’t Stop Rory Launched on Steam Today

Farm and defend in Can't Stop Rory

Can't Stop Rory, the cozy farming/base defense hybrid from Australian-American indie team Confused Grandma Games, is now available on Steam with a 15% discount. The studio has confirmed an official release for November 18, 2025 at 16:00 GMT, which will mark the full debut of the blend of laid-back farming and non-stop nighttime action.

Players take on the role of Rory, a farmer who awakens from stasis to find the world has changed and become hostile. The main cycle focuses on cultivating a growing farm during the day and protecting it each night by piloting a customizable mechanism. The contrast between peaceful daytime activities and evening raids forms the core of the game, offering a rhythm that becomes increasingly strategic as the farm expands.

The starter version features a wide range of additions that deepen both survival and farming. Base structures now take damage during raids, resulting in the need for constant maintenance and more emphasis on using resources wisely. New defensive tools like the missile launcher and UV lamp expand tactical capabilities, while the 'Mech receives a full upgrade tree and a new overheating system that increases the level of risk and reward.

Players will face new threats, including shock zombies that use electrical stuns to destroy defenses, and mini-zombies that use proximity explosives, requiring smarter planning and responses.

Farming advances with helpful automation such as sprinklers and vacuum pods, as well as six new mutated crops and larger plot options for large-scale production. The release also adds fifteen original music tracks to enrich both the farming and combat loops, and it comes with full language support in French, German, Simplified Chinese, Danish, Portuguese and Spanish.
