Canadian made Balatro drops a charity calendar for 2026

Canadian made Balatro releases a 2026 wall calendar starring actor Ben Starr as the game's mascot Jimbo.

The portraits in the calendar are artfully crafted to reference various jokers in the game. These portraits include a vampire, an artist (called a “hacker” in the game), a baron, and even a baseball player. Some reference cards with portraits don't even feature Jimbo, such as the cover photo of Jimbo lying on bananas (a reference to the Gros Michel card), and the portrait of Jimbo eating ice cream, which references the creatively titled ice cream card.

This isn't the first time Starr has played the beloved mascot: he dressed up as Jimbo to promote the game and receive a BAFTA award from the game's developer, LocalThunk. Starr has a wide selection of loans in the gaming industry, including Warframe, Warframe: 1999, Final Fantasy XVI, Dead Take, Date Everything! and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.

This wacky but awesome calendar is made for a good cause because LocalThunk and Balatro publisher PlayStack is donating all profits from the calendar to Extra Life and SpecialEffect.

Extra lifefounded in 2008 as part of the Children's Miracle Network of hospitals, is a program that supports local children's hospitals through gamers in charity livestreams. Extra Life has raised over US$132 million to date. Special Effect, Based in Oxfordshire, UK, it is a charity that works to make video games accessible to people with disabilities.

Balatro The calendar costs $19 USD, or approximately $26 CAD. Although it is currently out of stock notes the site Restocking is planned.
