NAGOYA –
Canadian dancers Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier finished fourth in Saturday's final stage of the Grand Prix of Figure Skating, just 0.06 points off the podium.
Gilles and Poirier were third after Thursday's rhythm dance, but finished fourth in the free skate with 125.86 points in the Vincent routine, bringing their overall score to a season-best 208.75.
Reigning world champions Madison Chock and Evan Bates of the United States took gold with 220.42 points, claiming their third straight title at the mid-season event, which featured the top six in each discipline.
Laurence Fournier Baudry, who is from Montreal but now represents France, and Guillaume Cizeron took silver with 214.25 points.
Britons Laila Fear and Lewis Gibson beat Gilles and Poirier to take bronze with a combined score of 208.81.
In the final of the Junior Grand Prix, Canadians Ava Kemp and Yokhnatan Elizarov won bronze in ice dancing.
