Canadians Marjorie Lajoie and Zachary Laga won silver in ice dancing at the Skate America figure skating competition on Sunday.

The pair finished with a combined score of 197.16.

Madison Chock and Evan Bates of the United States (212.58) won gold, while France's Evgenia Lopareva and Geoffrey Brisot took bronze (192.61).

Canadians Marjoie Lajoie and Zachery Laga scored 119.74 points, good enough to win the silver medal in ice dancing at Skate America in Lake Placid.

“We are very proud and pleased with our performance and result. Second place here means a lot to us because we worked really hard between the Skate Canada and Skate America competitions. I think we did a very good job,” Lajoie said.

“We couldn't have done better. It was perfect under the circumstances!” Laga added.

Lauren and Ethier won bronze in doubles on Saturday.

“We didn't expect to win a medal and we're very happy,” Lauren said.

“It's important for us because the start of the season has been a bit of a rollercoaster and to be able to bounce back and perform at our best on the international stage is great,” Ethier added.
