Canada will play for the bronze medal

Canada faced the Czech Republic in the semi-finals of the World Junior Championships. Last year, the Czech Republic eliminated ÉCJ in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

There are no changes to the Canadiens lineup. Canada's coach has faith in goalkeeper Jack Ivankovic for the second game in a row.

Here is the ECJ lineup:

Here is the Czech lineup with Michal Orsulak in front of goal:

The first period was hot. Canada was the first to open the scoring late in the period. With just a few minutes left in the match, ECJ took advantage of the power play and beat the Czech goalkeeper.

Tij Iginla took Michael Misa's pass and sent it into the open goal.

Bad news for ECJ as Brady Martin is the victim of a major body check and will be leaving the game after this.

Unfortunately for Canadiens fans, the Czech Republic tied the game less than two minutes later.

Maximilian Curran took advantage of a defensive error and fired the puck past the Canadiens goalie.

After 20 minutes of play the score was tied 1:1.

In the early moments of the second period, Czech pressure in the offensive zone created confusion in the Canadiens defense.

Adam Tittlebach took advantage of this and put his team ahead for the first time in the game. Tittlebach found himself alone in the slot and hit a great shot into the top corner.

Canada took advantage of two power plays to get everyone back to square one.

Defender Zane Parekh took advantage of the confusion in front of goal after a beautiful pass and beat the opposing goalkeeper.

Honorable mention to the Czech goalkeeper who made several spectacular saves before conceding the goal.

Michael Hage was lucky enough to convert not one, but two penalties. In the first, he was picked up by the goalkeeper, who gave him a second shot.

Hage tried the same deck twice, with the same result. The Canadiens prospect has no goals.

Less than a minute before the end of the second period, Czech forward Adam Benak returned his team to the lead.

He hit a big shot on a 2-on-1 break.

After the second period the score became 3:2 in favor of the Czech Republic.

In the third period, Canada again came from behind to tie the game.

Cole Reshni had a great game, thwarting the goalkeeper as he shot in front of the goal. All he had to do was shoot the puck into the open net.

Moments later, the Czech Republic retook the lead for the third time in the game.

Vojtech Csihar broke through the Canadiens defense and then interfered with the goalie, sending the puck into the top corner.

With less than three minutes remaining, captain Porter Martone roused the crowd with a goal. He received a return shot in front of the net before putting the puck into the net.

The Czechs took advantage of their successful run and regained the lead. Tomas Polotin saw the puck hit his skate before he saw it cross the goal line.

Chihar scored an insurance goal into an empty net.

Final score: 6-4 in favor of the Czech Republic.

Canada will face Finland on Monday for bronze.

after a while

— Losing Brady Martin late in the first period was a major blow for the Canadiens, who trailed the forward for the rest of the game.

– Michael Hage has a good attacking game. This was also a failure for him. He hit the post three times and missed two penalties. However, Hage was involved in both his team's second and third goals.

– The Czech Republic will meet Sweden in the World Cup final. Sweden won the penalty shootout against Finland with a score of 4:3. Anton Frondell gave his team victory.

A more difficult match was held by Quebecer Caleb Denoyer, who was unable to get his name on the scoresheet.
