According to Canadian news agencies, two leaders standing “Freedom”, in which the capital of Canada was hooked for several weeks in 2022.
Tamara Lich and Chris Barber were found guilty of harm, but in April it was clear about most other accusations against them after a long trial.
These two were part of the group that brought the convoy truck to Ottawa to protest against the measures of the Covid-19 and the governments of the former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
The crown requested a seven -year term for lich and eight years for a hairdresser, while lawyers requested absolute dismissal for both.
Barber and Lich received 18-month conditional sentences that would allow them to serve 12 months at home with disabilities, and then six months under the commandant’s hour in addition to 100 hours of public work, CBC and Toronto Star reported.
The crown also brought an application for the capture of the “big red” truck Barber, which was part of the protest of 2020.
According to court documents, Barber claimed that he followed the police instructions on where to park the car during protest, and moved it when they asked.
His lawyer also claims that the drilling installation is necessary for the hairdresser transport business and is used by his family and employees as part of regular operations.
Hearing on this issue takes place in November.
Separately, the crown turns against the sentencing issued in February PETU King, to another organizer of protest.
The prosecutors were looking for a 10-year term, but King received three months of arrest of the house after he was found guilty of five points, including one point on each of them, advising others to do harm and advise others in order to prevent the police.
At that time, the judge noted that King was not the central leader in protest, and in social networks he called for demonstrators to obey the law and avoid violence.
Both Lich and Barber were found guilty of advising others in order to harm in April.
Barber was additionally found guilty of consultations of others, so as not to obey the court decision.
The protests in February 2022 were caused by the federal mandate of the vaccines for truck drivers crossing the US Candida border.
Convoys of about 400 heavy trucks and other vehicles went down Ottawa and blocked city streets around the parliament for three weeks.
City officials considered this to “occupation”.
The protests came to an end after the Trudeau called the law on emergency situations – the first time that Canadian law was used – which allowed the police to clear the streets and the government to impose prohibitions on the public meeting, as well as other measures.
