Raven Software says its goal for the coming year and Call of Duty: Warzone comes down to three pillars: “Battle Royale, Rebirth and the Future of the Game.”
In the new update In a post earlier today, the developer said the team is “incredibly excited and there's a lot more to come,” including a “first look” at some of the upcoming updates, but insisted that “Battle Royale is the foundation on which we build every new mode, feature, and memorable moment.”
“While we continue to innovate throughout the game, we believe it is important that Battle Royale remains the cornerstone of what we do,” the developer said. “That's why we're expanding Battle Royale to include support for multiple large maps through map rotation. While it was previously unrealistic for us to host multiple large maps, we have since taken the steps necessary to support it. This will not be a launch function with Black Opera 7but this is a key addition planned for early next year.”
While the company previously insisted that following the re-release of Verdansk last spring it would be “more intentional about changes to preserve the original Warzone launch experience,” Raven confirmed that it was going to “increase the frequency of updates and improve the way we deliver new features to you.”

“The goal is balance: to keep moving while still maintaining seasonal support and improving quality of life,” the team explained.
As part of this, Raven says she heard you “loud and clear” about Rebirth Island and the broader Rebirth experience, admitting that it was “starting to feel a little dated.”
“So to start, we're giving Renaissance Island a complete overhaul in Season 2, which includes new POI updates, a cosmetic pass, and a few other updates to improve the flow,” Raven explained. “The launch of the new map Haven's Hollow in Season 1 will be another step in revitalizing Resurgence. We've made changes in recent months based on feedback received during early previews of Haven's Hollow.
“Shortly after launch, we will be bringing back map rotation in Resurgence, swapping places between Rebirth Island and Haven's Hollow,” the statement reads. “We're also exploring opportunities to bring back past cards in future seasons: right now we're working on an improved version of Fortune's Keep. Our goal is to ensure that every card has room to shine without sidelining the ones you love the most.”
Going forward, the developer says it will continue to make “significant, meaningful improvements on multiple fronts” and intends to “provide a higher frequency of updates with a greater emphasis on balance changes at least twice per season.”
“Our approach to balancing weapons and attachments is fundamentally changing, which means redefining roles at launch and then multiple balance passes throughout the season with adjustments completely unique to Warzone,” Raven explained. “Regular updates will go beyond weapons and include changes to ground loot, perks, equipment, contracts, and more throughout the year.”
Players can expect a seasonal roadmap next month and more camos for ranked play in Season 2, as well as “the arrival of our new Blackout experience on Avalon in Season 2.”
Battlefield 6's battle royale mode is rumored to be called Battlefield: RedSec.according to data miners, it may be canceled as early as next week.
