Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was the best-selling game last month, in spite of mixed reception from fans and critics

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 became the best-selling premium game in November, ahead of Battlefield 6NBA 2K26 and other big players.

This data was provided by Matt Piscatella.senior director of data sales company Circana. Posting the results on social media, Piscatella highlighted Black Ops 7's strong performance despite the game's mixed reception from fans and critics alike.

Ranking No. 1 in November for combined physical and digital sales, the series has now ranked No. 1 in its launch month for 18 years in a row. It's worth noting that other games that made it into November's top five bestsellers were also released in previous months.

Among other games released in November, Kirby Air Riders ranked 10th, although digital sales were not factored into its placement. The same applies to Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonmentwhich secured its place at number 11. Interestingly, Grand Craft Auto 5 became the 18th best-selling game last month, more than a decade since its original release.

Despite relatively positive results in its release month, Call of Duty as a franchise will roll back some significant changes because Black Ops 7 “didn't live up to” fans' expectations.. Specifically, there will no longer be back-to-back releases of Modern Warfare or Black Ops.

If you haven't had a chance to try the game yet, Eurogamer's Black Ops 7 review noted: “The move away from single-player makes Call of Duty the most one-dimensional and homogeneous game in decades, although what it does offer is always good fun when taken on its own terms.”
